Generac / Honeywell Generator Overspeed Failure Plus Engine Problems!

Honeywell stand-by generators are built by Generac and generally have more features included otherwise there's absolutely no difference between the two. I located the initial problem at the end of the call but that doesn't excuse the engine problem I found. After interviewing several small engine mechanics it appears to me that a lot of these problems are because of the short run cycles resulting in a poor break-in period.
