The MBTA is slowly accepting new deliveries of the new CRRC 1400-series Orange Line cars. In this video we have both of the old and new Orange Line cars serving station stops at Wellington and Malden Center. Note how there is a special station announcement announcing when the next approaching train is one of the new ones.

The new cars are being built at a CRRC manufacturing plant in Springfield, MA. This is the same company that is building CTA's new 7000 series 'L' cars in the Hegewisch neighborhood of Chicago's far south side.

Most recently the MBTA's new CRRC Red Line cars came back to service after being held aside for inspections after the CRRC Orange Line derailment near Wellington yard back in Spring of 2021. As a result the tracks in this area have been rehabbed as well.
