The northeastern state of Assam is facing a major flood-like situation. Over 30 people have lost their lives so far, while nearly 2 lakh people have been displaced. Karimganj is the most affected area of the state. The Kopili River in Kampur is currently flowing above the danger mark. A total of 1378.64 hectares of farmland has been washed away and nearly 54,877 animals have been affected due to floods.
