Mega Women Entrepreneurship Mela Held in Kishtwar under Mission YUVA

The District Employment and Counselling Centre, Kishtwar, today organised a Mega Women’s Entrepreneurship and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) Mela under Mission YUVA at the Conference Hall, DC Office, Kishtwar.
The Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Shri Pankaj Kumar Sharma, JKAS, attended the event as the Chief Guest and formally inaugurated the mela by lighting the lamp on the occasion.
The mela witnessed enthusiastic participation from women entrepreneurs and SHG members from across the district, with around 500 women taking part in the event.
The initiative aimed to promote women entrepreneurship, self-employment, and livelihood generation by providing a common platform for women to showcase their products, skills, and enterprise models.
Officers from different departments were present to ensure effective coordination and provided direct guidance to women entrepreneurs regarding government schemes, financial assistance, training opportunities, and market linkage support.
Women entrepreneurs and SHG members displayed a wide range of products, including handicrafts, embroidery, handloom items, tailoring products, food processing items, traditional local products, and other micro-enterprise outputs.
The stalls reflected the creativity, skill, and entrepreneurial potential of women in District Kishtwar.
Officials interacted with the participants, appreciated their efforts, and encouraged them to strengthen their enterprises by availing benefits under Mission YUVA and allied schemes.
As a mark of recognition and encouragement, top-performing women entrepreneurs were felicitated with trophies during the event.
This gesture motivated the participants and acknowledged their hard work, innovation, and contribution towards economic self-reliance.
The felicitation ceremony also inspired other women and SHG members to pursue entrepreneurship as a sustainable livelihood option.
Overall, the mela proved to be a significant step towards women empowerment in District Kishtwar.
It strengthened awareness about entrepreneurship opportunities, enhanced confidence among women, and reaffirmed the commitment of the district administration to support women-led enterprises through continuous handholding, institutional support, and inclusive development initiatives.
The overall event was held under the guidance of AD Employment Kishtwar, Smt. Mamta Sudershan, JKAS.
The event was attended by ADC Kishtwar, Shri Pawan Kotwal, JKAS; DIO Kishtwar, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar; AD Handicrafts Kishtwar, Pardeep Shan, EO Kishtwar Vinod Kumar besides other officers and concerned staff.
