Bona’s life was saved with a lot of hard work, research, fund-raising & commitment from a group of many amazing volunteers. Their hard work paid off when Bona was released to the wild and given the chance to live the life of a healthy elephant alongside 47 other wild elephants at a beautiful reserve for endangered animals. Recently the Indonesian government has given approval for this precious elephant & wildlife habitat to be clear-felled for a coal mine & the wild elephants that reside there will most likely be farmed out to inappropriate zoos in Indonesia and forced to be entertainment. They will be separated from each other and kept in in-appropriate conditions for wild animals.
