All About The Real Life Pumbaas

Hi everyone,

I get asked lots of questions about all the animals we take care of so this week I wanted to talk about our warthogs Betsie and Bennie, who were both rescued and given a second chance at life.

Cindy the baboon took to them straight away and to this day still treats them like her own babies, they used to sleep in her house with her but now they’re too big so they have their own house next door.

If she hears them squeal and thinks they might be in danger she reacts, but even though she loves them so much, she will NOT share her food with them haha, but they never learn, maybe it’s because they are not the brightest animals on the farm? 😂

We hand reared them on the bottle so also have a close relationship with them, but there will come a time when they widen their territory and have babies of their own so will no longer stay with us. They may even have babies together which would be amazing. Hopefully they will still visit us.
