“Interactive Movie” is the term used today to define a unique related genre, the blurry boundary of which lies between real cinema and computer animation on the one hand, and full-fledged video games on the other. That is, there is no usual full control over the characters in such games. The player as a spectator observes the development of events and at certain moments the process intervenes, determining the further course of the non-linear plot. Most often, the choice is made during QTE scenes, but there may be other options.
By the way, all representatives of the Interactive Cinema genre can be divided into two main groups. The first is the games themselves, and the second is real films or TV shows, with live actors and action filmed on camera. They also feature choices that spectators/players make in a special dialog box while watching/playing.
