The Transportation Security Administration is best known for its security in the nation's airports, but TSA helps provide security in other transportation modes as well.

VIPR teams are an important part of a multilayered approach to keeping the traveling public safe. VIPR teams were created following the Madrid train bombings which killed 191 people and wounded 1,800. The 9/11 Act authorizes the teams to help secure America's railroads, highways, mass transit systems, pipelines and maritime sectors.
