When purchasing a house with your VA loan it’s important to understand that there are going to whats known as VA funding fees. The funding fee was created to make the VA loan as a whole more affordable for veterans and taxpayers. Some veterans are exempt from paying the funding fee, which we cover in the video. VA funding fees also vary in cost depending on whether it’s the first time, or being used subsequently. It also varies depending on whether you’re putting a down payment or not.
