Normal life in Bengaluru took a hit on Thursday due to the nationwide transport strike called against the Road Safety Bill 2014. The usually bustling Majestic bus stop, which sees about 8 lakh footfalls everyday, wore a deserted look.

KSRTC buses kept their engines off in support of the protest. About 200 out of 675 Volvo buses, a handful of regular BMTC buses and autos were functional, providing some relief to the stranded passengers. The app-based cab aggregators and private taxis resumed their services in the afternoon.
