How to Transcribe a Ciphertext for a Later Cryptanalysis

In this video, we discuss how to transcribe a ciphertext, which means how to create a machine readable version of a given ciphertext. We present two different methods: 1) the "ABC method", which is a very naîve approach and 2) the DECRYPT transcription guidelines. After that, we have a look at the "Transcriptor" component, which is a CrypTool 2 component that allows to transcribe (printed) ciphertexts manually or semi-automatically.
