Happy Friday! Do you know how the sign for president originated? 🇺🇸

It all began at one of the very first schools of the deaf in the United States, which is American School for the Deaf (ASD) in Hartford, Connecticut. When ASD first opened in 1817, President James Monroe went to visit. The students liked his bicorne hat, so they gave him a name sign after the shape of his hat. 🎩

Bonus fact: He was also the very last president to use a bicorne hat style!
