What We Built

Created a complete 3D farming simulation in Godot 4.4 with advanced time and weather
systems!

🚀 Core Features Implemented

Player System

3D character controller with WASD movement + jump
Inventory system (seeds & money)
Character shadow for visual polish
Anti-fall system (auto-reset if you fall off the map)

Farming Mechanics

Grid-based crop planting (F key)
4-stage crop growth: Seed → Sprout → Growing → Mature
Visual growth progression with size and color changes
Harvesting system (G key) - $20 per crop
Smart collision detection prevents planting on occupied tiles

Advanced Time System

Day/Night Cycle: 2 minutes = 1 game day
Realistic Sun Movement: Dynamic directional lighting with shadows
4 Seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter (28 days each)
Time Display: 12-hour format with AM/PM
Crop Growth: Now based on days, not seconds (3 days to maturity)

Dynamic Weather System

3 Weather Types: Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy
Seasonal Weather Patterns:
Summer: 60% sunny, 25% cloudy, 15% rain
Winter: 20% sunny, 50% cloudy, 30% rain
Visual Effects: Rain particles, dynamic lighting changes
Seasonal Lighting: Warm summer sun, cool winter light

Economic System

Seed Store: Buy seeds for $10 each
Profit Loop: Plant ($10) → Harvest ($20) = $10 profit per crop
Resource Management: Start with 10 seeds, $100
Sustainable Gameplay: Always able to earn more money for seeds

UI & Polish

Large Informative Panel: Shows all vital stats
Real-time Updates: Seeds, money, time, season
Stylized Design: Rounded corners, shadows, hover effects
Restart Function: Reset everything to starting state
Visual Feedback: Console messages for all actions

Separate scripts for each system (Player, Farm Grid, Weather, Time, UI)

Group-based node finding for loose coupling

Efficient crop growth checking (day-based, not frame-based)
