Relic Hunters Zero gameplay is a bit lie a twin-stick shooter without the typical frenetic pace; instead, combat is a mix of tactically using the surroundings and running and gunning when things don't work out. This game has local co-op and there are things to unlocked that persist across playthroughs.

"Relic Hunters Zero is a charming sci-fi shooter from the creators of Chroma Squad, Knights of Pen & Paper and Dungeonland, in which you shoot adorable space animals across 12 action packed levels, unlocking relics, characters and weapons.

The main game is a 12 level adventure mode, that see’s you battling space animals, collecting loot, and attempting to defeat the evil Ducan Commander. A Full playthrough should take 2-3 hours, but there’s plenty of replayability due to the various unlockable characters and the randomly generated enemy and item placement on each level. And there’s also an Endless Mode with unique weapons and economy.

The combat is fast, fluid, fun and playable in single player or local Co-Op – all accompanied by an excellent soundtrack by Goto80. The icing on the cake is that Relic Hunters Zero as well as being 100% free with no microtransactions, the source code is freely available to all – encouraging modders to see what they can create.
