About Smt. B. Prabha Rao - Smt. B Prabha Rao started learning Carnatic Classical Music (Vocal) under Late Shri H. A. S. Mani since the age of 7 years, in Mumbai. She was a student of Shanmukhanada Fine Arts for 2 Years. She joined Central College of Carnatic Music, Chennai in 1963 and obtained advanced training under great Masters like Late Shri. Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, Musiri Subramania Iyer, Smt. T. Brinda, Sandhya Vandanam Srinivasa Rao, Shri. T. K. Govinda Rao, Palghat K. V. Narayana Swamy & Shri TM Thyagarajan and passed Sangeetha Vidhvan Title Exam with First Class (Gold Medal). Since a very early age of 8 Years, have been winning many Music Competitions held in Mumbai, conducted by various local cultural sabhas which include Shanmukhananda Fine Arts, Bharatiya Fine Arts, Bharati Kala Mandram, Tamil Sangam and many more. In 1962, won All India Music Competition and Received President Award from Shree Sarvapalli Dr. Radhakrishnan. An All India Radio artist since 1962, she has performed in Mumbai & Chennai AIR. Presently hold ‘A’ Grade. Her programs have been broadcast on Akashwani & FM Radio Channels. She has also performed for Mumbai Doordarshan Metro Channel in 1998 and has been on National Channel for Southern region in 1996.

Ms Devika Rao: – Student of Smt. B Prabha Rao and her Grand Daughter. She has been learning Vocal music under her Grandmother since childhood and has won Mumbai University Medal for Vocal Music during her Academics (BMS from Model College, Dombivli).

Vaikhyam Gopakumar on Mridangam: – A well known performing artist, he is a Post Graduate in Arts from Shree Swati Thirunal Sangeetam College, Trivandrum, Kerala and a B-High artist in All India Radio.

Anujan Krishnamurthy on Violin:- Gold Medalist & Winner of All India Radio 2003 Contest for best performance on Violin. He has been a student of Smt. B Prabha Rao and learning Carnatic Classical Vocal and Violin under her from the very beginning. He is a well known artist in his own right.
