They used traditional FM as well as NeoFM, in addition to wavetable, phase distortion, additive, waveshapping, and other types of synthesis all in one plugin. But it's very easy to tweak, the interface is laid out well and there are tons of waveforms to choose from (or you can load your own). It's also very easy to swtich the synthesis types so experimentation is encouraged.
