In this video, I'm going to unpack what is called "scale stacking". Basically, if you overlay the melodic minor, harmonic minor and natural minor, you have a sequence of chromatic notes that you can play as "passing tones" to make your playing more interesting. Jazz players use this idea, but it's fairly untapped in rock and metal - apart from players like Marty Friedman and Michael Romeo. So it should be less of a mystery after watching this video!
