Giving a cat a pill is an art. In this video, we walk you through three methods for giving a cat medication: using pill pockets, a pill gun (also called a pill popper), and a pill grinder. From a safety and stress-reduction perspective, starting with pill pockets or any method that hides the medication in food is preferable. Whether you’ve got a picky eater or a wiggly patient, one of these techniques might just work.

We also meet two affectionate rescue cats from Flatbush, Brooklyn who are looking for foster or adoptive homes. Like so many cats in our care, they’ve overcome tough starts and are ready for the next chapter—with someone like you.

Our holding space is where all these cats begin their journey with us—it’s a place to stabilize, decompress, and start healing. Volunteers care for them twice a day, every day. If you’re in NYC and want to help, we’re always looking for new fosters and holding space volunteers.
