Happy Birthday NHS (70 years old today) (UK) - BBC News - 5th July 2018

The NHS (National Health Service) is 70 years old today and is not only the largest employer in the UK (about 1.5 million people) but also the largest public health organisation on planet Earth at this time.

Here we see the some of the commemorations, celebrations and history of this much-loved British institute that gives free health care to any UK citizen should they ever want to use it, saving tens of thousands of lives every year.

There would be many event held all throughout the UK this day. Probably every Briton alive today, has either worked, works, knows a relative who works or knows someone who works or has worked in this service at some stage.

The British people are very proud of the NHS, the hard workers there and fiercely protective of this much-loved institute and honestly, quite rightly so.
