Karen Read heads to trial again for allegedly killing her boyfriend in January 2022 in Canton.

Prosecutors allege she backed her Lexus SUV in a drunken rage into John O’Keefe, a Boston police officer, after dropping him off outside a fellow officer’s home following a night of bar-hopping.

Lawyers for Read, 45, say she was framed and that O’Keefe, 46, entered the home, where he was fatally beaten and possibly attacked by a German shepherd before his body was planted on the front lawn.

Read’s first trial ended with a hung jury in July. Since then, a new prosecutor has been brought on, lawyers for both sides have tangled in court over evidence and experts, and a documentary on the case was released.

With jury selection slated to begin in Norfolk Superior Court in Dedham, here’s an overview of the major developments since last summer.
