Christoph Franz Loo Cuan, 16, Singapore, presents his Python coding project ‘Connect 4’ for Coding Lab’s International Coding Showcase 2021 (SG-JP).

“My project is a computer simulation of the game connect 4. Key features of my program are: the ability of players to select which colour checker they would like to play with, alternating who goes first between player 1 and 2 after each game, and error handling for when players click on an occupied square on the grid. The program also has the ability to determine winners by checking if 4 checkers of the same colour have been connected either vertically, horizontally or diagonally.”

Christoph’s project and video presentation earned him a Distinction and Judges' Choice (Most Creative) in the Ages 13 to 18 (Python and Electives) category.
