The blockchain community continues to grow in Wales and the ongoing global economic shift means innovation is needed more than ever. Blockchain technology has the potential to solve key cross-sector challenges, but more evidence is needed to provide confidence and speed adoption.

Presented by Blockchain Connected, funded by the Welsh Government and facilitated by SimplyDo, this Blockchain Demonstrator Challenge Fund aims to fund innovative prototypes to demonstrate how blockchain can integrate with real-world data and systems. It aims to show how blockchain can be used for economic, societal and environmental benefit in Wales, both for private and public sector.

This Blockchain Demonstrator Challenge Fund invites organisations and blockchain innovators to collaborate on new solutions using blockchain technology. Projects will be awarded funding of between £40,000 and £50,000 to build a demonstrable prototype using blockchain technology and real-world data.

As this is a fully-funded Welsh Government programme, whilst open to participants across the UK and EU, one participant of each collaborative application has to be based in Wales. Challenges can be submitted across four key themes: Supply Chain, Circular Economy, Net Zero, Digital Record/Identity
