.....the Grand National.....as covered by the BBC for the very last time...a very sad day ..having covered this once great race since 1960 they decided that this was to be the last.....it was also the last of the true nationals......subsequent fence modifications have since made it almost unrecognisable from its heyday ...it was also commentator Jim McGraths final national....but what a race....Paul Nicholl's Neptune Collonges wins by a nostril in a desperate photo finish...the first grey to win since Nicklaus Silver in '61
