Ankara’ya 12 kilometre uzaklıkta, Samsun yolu üzerinde yer alır. 2 bin 400 metrekare alanı kapsayan ve içinde dev ağaçların bulunduğu park adını Bayındır Barajı içindeki 6 milyon metreküp hacmindeki mavi suyundan alır. Ankara’nın doğusunda bulunan Bayındır Barajı, 2005 yılında Ankaralıların piknik yapabileceği ve hoşça vakit geçirebilecekleri bir dinlenme ve eğlence merkezine dönüştürülerek Mavi Göl adıyla hizmete açılmıştır.
