After doing a six hour race with Rory Alexander, I had a creaking noise coming from the base shaft. It was not coming from either of my wheels. Did some research and found a Reddit thread from ock_10 where he cut a 3mm hex key and was able to tighten the hex bolt on the wheel shaft that is partially hidden behind the plastic housing. We did this and it fixed our creaking noise. Hope this field fix helps anyone with this same problem. ========== OK..... NEW UPDATE====== Even after tightening the shaft set hex screw, we would still get the occasional "creak" sound. It would make the noise if you just flex the wheel down even with the wheel powered off. I tried loosening the hex set screw and applied a TINY amount of fishing reel oil(TINY AMOUNT) with a single strand of electrical wire around the edges of the head of the hex screw to create a small film between the screw head and the QR sleeve. NOISE COMPLETELY GONE!!! Maybe the QR sleeve was flexing against the head of the Hex screw causing the noise; or the small amount of oil allowed us to tighten the hex bolt just that little more it needed to snug the QR sleeve to the shaft. Hopefully that is the end of the noise, and we don't have to re-do this, but if we have to it's not that difficult for us to do. DON'T GO SPRAYING WD40 INTO THIS WHEEL BASE OR SET SCREW. THIS IS FOR INFORMATION ONLY ON WHAT WE DID TO FIX AN ANNOYING PROBLEM.
