Recorded and Digitalized off a pre recorded VHS tape later converted to DVD through a DVD burner and has been restored and making its debut on my Youtube Phenia films page.
Original WTXF Fox 29 Broadcast with Harry Kalas, Richie Ashburn and Chris Wheeler from Shea Stadium, game one of a three game series has Ken Howell for the Phillies and Frank Viola for the Mets as the Phillies score in the first inning to take a early lead with a RBI single from John Kruk scoring Lenny Dykstra.
Mets answer back with a run in the btm of the 1st but take the lead in the 2nd scoring 4 runs on 5 hits taking starter Ken Howell out replaced by Dennis Cook.
Viola pitches 8 innings allowing one run on eight hits while striking out eight and walking just one. Earning his tenth win of 1990 (10-3) while Howell gets the loss (8-4) pitching 1.2 innings allowing five runs on seven hits, Jeff Innis comes in the 9th closing the door on Philadelphia as the Mets take the first game of the series at Shea.
