For the processor in this $500 Gaming PC Build I selected an APU, the AMD Ryzen 5 2400G. This chip combines processor and graphics into one single unit to extrapolate the most value, and provide the best gaming experience on a budget! Affordable, overclockable and a consistently good performer!

For the motherboard in this budget gaming build the ASUS Prime B350M-E was a solid choice. The sleek black and red design fits the build colour scheme perfectly, with overclocking support & USB C build in. It also supports overclocking of the CPU & memory and supports a graphics card through it’s PCI-E 3.0 x16 slot.

For the RAM, the memory, I selected 8GB of Corsair’s Vengeance LPX. This DDR4 2666Mhz kit works very well, with the fast clock speed very beneficial to the Ryzen 2400G’s gaming performance. The 2 x 4GB configuration also works better for the APU chosen here, providing an increased amount of memory bandwidth.

For storage I selected a 2TB hard drive. This Seagate Barracuda drive comes in at the standard 3.5” form factor, with a fast 7200RPM speed. Whilst SSD drives will always be faster than hard drives, in the tight budget constraints here a hard drive is the best bet!

For the case I picked the Cooler Master Masterbox Q300P. One of their new budget case’s its a fantastic bet for smaller form factor, more affordable gaming PC builds. The case comes with 2 RGB fans included up front, with a standard 120mm fan at the rear for superb air flow.

The final part in this build is the power supply. The Thermaltake 500W TR2 80+ is a great unit. 500W of power is more than enough for this build, while the 80+ certification guarantees great efficiency.
