Detecting & exploring the deserted & overgrown New England farms

Описание к видео Detecting & exploring the deserted & overgrown New England farms

Farms settled in the 1700s that have been deserted for centuries and now all overgrown with forest. I took my Fisher F19 metal detecting to see what I could find out here but most of all I wanted to see the land . I had seen old aerial photos from 1938 that showed some of these spots were still open fields and it was pretty cool to see what the difference was in the trees. I made it all the way up to a cellar hole that is where the house was and did some detecting finding several old buttons. A great day of exploring and following the rock walls that define the landscape between pastures and fields. Relic hunting is a blast but exploring the history of these old places is really what stimulates the mind.
