Los Angeles Regional Food Bank Volunteer Service | WMSCOG

On January 4, 2024, watch how 100 volunteers from the World Mission Society Church of God joined forces at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. The warehouse, dealing with fewer donations and volunteer hours after the New Year, witnessed the collaborative efforts of church members from Los Angeles, Torrance, Santa Clarita, Sunland, Riverside, and Cerritos. Their mission? To provide food for over 4,000 children and seniors facing food insecurity in LA County.
Check out the video to see volunteers assemble robust food packages filled with items like chicken, cereal, condensed milk, and canned fruit. These packages were prepared for distribution to those in need the following weekend.
This volunteer service aligns with the Church of God's commitment to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, specifically targeting Goal #2: Zero Hunger. In just a few hours, the members put together 4,117 food packages with love. After the event, the Church of God received a certificate of appreciation from the Food Bank for their heartfelt service, adding to their track record of thousands of hours of prior volunteer work.
