About LPL
The Tencent League of Legends Pro League (LPL) is the premier League of Legends esports competition in China. The LPL features 12 teams split into two divisions of 6 teams each. Each team faces every other team inside their division twice over the course of the season, and every team outside their division once over the course of the season. All regular season matches are Best of 3. Winning a Best of 3 series counts as one win, or one point.

Tiebreakers

If two teams are tied after group stages complete, their head to head record will be the first tiebreaker.

If three or more teams are tied:

Number of wins among these teams will be ranked.
If two teams has the same relative number of wins, the head to head record in group stage between these two teams will be the tiebreaker.
If teams are still tied, apply the above 1 & 2 tiebreakers again(rank the number of wins and check the head to head record).
If teams are still tied at the third time, apply the 1 & 2 tiebreakers again (rank the number of wins and check the head to head record).
If teams are still tied after the above tiebreaker, the team who won its game in the shortest time against the other team during the group stage will be considered as a higher rank.
If this does not result in a hierarchical ranking of teams, the team who lost its game in the longest time against the other team during the group stage will be considered as a higher rank.
Playoff Format

The top 2 teams of each division automatically qualify for playoffs.
The 3rd place team of each division plays against the 4th place team of the opposite division. The winner qualifies for playoffs.
A 3rd/4th place match will be played
All matches are Best of 5.
Relegation Format

The 6th place teams of each division will play against each other. The winner goes to a relegation match vs. the 3rd place LSPL team, the loser is demoted to the LSPL.
The 5th place teams of each division will play against each other. The winner stays in the LPL, the loser goes to a relegation match vs. the 2nd place LSPL team.
All matches are Best of 5.
