The Easiest Way To Fill A Hay Net For Horses

Hello my equestrian friends! I have recently started feeding my horses using hay nets to slow them down with their meals and it is working so well. I have noticed a lot of good improvements in feeding them using a hay net. But getting the hay net filled can be a challenge! So I wanted to share with you a super easy way to fill a hay net! It is fast and easy, and all you need is the hay, hay net, and a trash can.
If you are thinking about trying out a hay net for your horse, do your research to make sure this is a good option for you. If your horse is shod (wearing horse shoes) you probably shouldn't use a hay net because of the risk of your horse getting caught in the net. BUT if your horse is barefoot, using a hay net might be a good option for you.
I like using a hay net because it slows my horses down while they are eating. What they could normally eat in an hour has been slowed down to 3 hours! And because I am shaking out the hay, I am removing the dust, which means less coughing and respiratory issues for my horses.
This has been such a good thing for me and my horses, which is why I wanted to share it with you.
The hay nets I prefer to use are the Shire's slow feed hay net and you can find them at Dover's Saddlery.
