Playa Solitaria - Los Rockets - cover by Dave Monk

I must stop recording obscure songs as finding out their background is proving difficult.
The information below is pieced together from various sources and may not be accurate, but here goes.
The very beautiful "Playa Solitaria" or "Lonely Beach" is a cover recorded in 1963 by the Chilean group "The Rockets", Horacio Saavedra old group. The original theme is from a group called THE CHARADES and its author is Johnny Devlin, an Australian musician who edited it as a single in 1962. This song is well known in Chile by the guitarists Raul and Carlos Corales Cabré.
