Naval Group's Propulsion Systems: AIP for Submarines

Exclusive and in-depth coverage of Naval Group's latest air independent propulsion (AIP) technology for submarines: the FC2G (fuel cell 2nd generation). Naval News was the first media to get access to the FC2G AIP land based demonstrator.


This interview was recorded in 2020. Tests on the full scale demonstrator started in 2012. In 2019, Naval Group achieved a breakthrough: The company demonstrated an 18 days submerged patrol representative of operational conditions.
