パウエル祭 (Powell St. Festival) はバンクーバーカナダ
で開催される長年続いてきた日本のお祭りです。明治時代が移民が始まり、日系人は沢山BC州に住んでいる。このお祭りは昔のジャパンタウンで行われ、カナダと日本が融合した文化、歴史、食べ物などが楽しめます。スパムむすび、サーモンバーベキュー、カツバーガー、海苔のタコス等など色々なフィュージョンの食べ物があり、様々な国から人が集まり、日本を味わいます。ロトロなかき氷機も大活躍！１４０年間保たれてきた古い日本の文化から現在のアニメ、漫画の文化まで長い歴史を感じとれます。

The Powell Street Festival is the largest Japan festival in Vancouver, Canada, and presents an exciting fusion of Nikkei, Canadian, and Japanese culture and history. And don't forget the food! Karaage, spam musubi, ramen, takoyaki, okonomiyaki, nori tacos, katsu burgers -- you name it! It happens every year in the historical Japan Town, and is also an incredible healing experience, with workshops and talks on displacement and the Japanese Canadian struggle in BC.
