Step-by-step guide on how to remove / replace rear bumper cover on Ford Taurus sedan. Removing the rear bumper cover is not too hard and a task you can do by yourself with a bit of effort. ( 2013 | 2014 | 2015 | 2016 | 2017 | 2018 | 2019 | SE | SEL | LIMITED | AWD | 3.5L ).

To start first you will have to remove rear tail lights. That will make your life much easier. Tail lights are being held by three 11mm nuts. Remove the nuts and disconnect the electrical connectors. Remove the tail lights. Just under the tail lights there are 11mm mounting nuts for the rear bumper cover. Remove those as well. Now lie under the car and remove two 10mm screws holding the rear bumper underneath. Once that is done you will have to remove five 5.5mm screws holding the rear bumper cover on the sides. Four of those screws are going into the bumper and one goes up into the quarter panel and is holding the upper part of bumper is place and aligned. Now the bumper is ready to be removed. You want to pull it straight out with no twisting because there are still four pins holding it in the middle which just pop out. You don't want to brake those. if your Taurus is equipped with rear parking sensors disconnect the wiring on the left side. That's it. Good luck.
