On July 7, 2017, Air Canada Flight 759 nearly landed on a taxiway at San Francisco International Airport instead of the intended runway. The plane descended to just 60 feet above the ground, flying directly over four fully loaded aircraft waiting to take off. The pilots realized the mistake and aborted the landing just in time, avoiding what could have been a catastrophic accident. No one was injured, but the incident led to major safety reviews and procedural changes.
