Dracula by Bram Stoker |27| FULL AUDIOBOOK | Classic Literature in British English : Gothic Horror

Описание к видео Dracula by Bram Stoker |27| FULL AUDIOBOOK | Classic Literature in British English : Gothic Horror

Welcome to Chapter 27, the finale of my full audiobook of Dracula by Bram Stoker (1897) : complete & unabridged, performed & produced by me, Steven Garnett. Although "Gothic Literature" & "Vampire Horror" this is a story of love, friendship and strength in the face of adversity; a beautiful piece!
- I read in "British English" (born in Yorkshire, northern England) but all narration in this book is in the form of character performances, not my native voice, as there is no "narrator" as such. That said, of the main cast Jonathan Harker is closest.
Musical interludes are Toccata and Fugue in D minor by J.S. Bach on piano by Stefano Ligoratti (Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0)

It always feels bitter-sweet to come to the end of a story that you have enjoyed, especially after pouring so much of yourself into it over the course of a long period of time. I have come to be rather connected to these characters, as I portray their most tender feelings during moments of trial and tribulation, and at times of vulnerability, fear, despair and love.

Thank you for all your support and encouragement while I have worked on what has been a very demanding audiobook to produce, in some ways the most challenging for me yet, and thank you for being a part of this journey.

Dracula has been an absolute pleasure to narrate, I am so impressed with Stoker's exhilarating and surprisingly modern writing. I feel silly for never having read this book until now. It is easy to form a preconception of what you think a book will be like, particularly a story and character so famous, a character too that is so often parodied. For me becoming immersed in the original writing has brought new life to this most iconic of vampires.

- I so hope you enjoyed it too! -

Do keep sharing your top moments and favourite characters, I love to hear your thoughts on this piece and my interpretation of it. What a journey it has been!
