Elvis Presley - When I'm Over You - From First Take to the Master

Описание к видео Elvis Presley - When I'm Over You - From First Take to the Master

Whilst this is a nice song to listen to and is well performed by Elvis, it is light years away from being hit material. In fact, it is almost safe to say that it belongs towards the bottom end of the material that Elvis recorded in Nashville in June 1970. However, it is a song that I’ve always had a soft spot for!!
It is therefore unsurprising that it was released on the sessions third album, which by definition included the songs not deemed of sufficient quality for the first two albums. This album was Love Letters From Elvis, released in June 1971, six months after Country and eight months after That’s The Way It Is.
The song was the first recorded on 7 June 1970 at RCA’s Studio B in Nashville and was completed in just a single take. Backing vocals were added on 1 October 1970 in Studio A before strings were then added on 28 October in the same studio. The strings were arranged by Don Tweedy and after being added created the unedited master.
Finally, before releasing on the album, the song was edited by over a minute by means of adding an early fade out. This compilation features the song at all four stages of this process.

As with all of these videos, to get the most out of the re-edited audio, I highly recommend you use ear /headphones and turn the volume up as much as you dare!
