This is my 4th United Airlines B777 model.
You're viewing a United Airlines B777-200 in the "Battleship Grey"Livery in a 1:200 scale from JC Wings.
United Airlines' Connection with the B777-200 as the Launch Customer :
United Airlines was the Launch Customer of the B777-200 when the first B777-200 Variant was Delivered to United Airlines on May 15,1995 and entered Commercial Service on June 7,1995 with its first Inaugural Flight from Washington -Dulles International Airport in Washington DC to London-Heathrow Airport in London, England and the first B777-200 that was Delivered to United Airlines Bearing the Registration # N777UA.
The Battleship Grey Livery : In 1993,at the request of then -C.E.O. Stephen Wolf,United Airlines completely revised it's branding and Livery to a Primarily Grey and Dark Blue Fuselage, with Blue stripes on the tail.A Custom Times new Roman Font reading "UNITED AIRLINES"in white, replaced Saul Bass' previous lettering style. The Familiar "Tulip" logo remained, although slightly smaller. And as a homage to the previous livery, The Saul Bass Livery, The Narrow Red,Orange, and Blue Stripes appeared between the Grey and the Dark Blue and as a result, The Battleship Grey Livery was conceived and this livery was the Signature Trademark Livery look of United Airlines until
February 18,2004,When United unveiled their new livery called the "Blue Tulip"Livery. The Battleship Grey Livery was created and designed by the CKS Group, who was an advertising agency consultancy firm based in Cupertino, California.
"Worldwide Service"Slogan: This was the main slogan for United Airlines. This slogan was intended to project a more Business like,Global Image for the Airline, which was rapidly expanding Internationally.
"Working Together"Slogan: This is another slogan that United Airlines used and still holds true today that creating a culture of Respect and Honesty will build and sustain the company as a whole and the five pilars of "Working Together" according to United Airlines are: Dignity, Respect, Honesty, Professionalism, and Responsibility.
Registration # N777UA : This Aircraft is the first B777 not only to be assembled at the Boeing 777 Plant Facility in Everett, Washington, but also the first B777 to enter United's Fleet as well.
The First Test Flight on this Aircraft took place on April 25,1995 and was Delivered to United Airlines on May 15,1995,the day that Boeing and United Airlines Re-Wrote and Changed Aviation History with this Prestigious State of the Art Aircraft.
The"Tulip"Logo : The Tulip Logo,as it was once called, was United Airlines Signature Logo from 1973 until the Continental Airlines Merger in 2010.This logo was designed by the late Saul Bass(1920-1996),who was also a graphic designer and a Academy Award winning filmmaker.
