"Circe Invidiosa" deals with a man named Glaucus. Before he was a god of the sea, Glaucus was mortal, a fisherman, who one day happened to eat a magical herb. The herb had given him powers, transforming his lower half into that of a fish. With his powers, he would save those who would fall in the water in violent storms, since he himself experienced these terrible ordeals. But one day he eyes laid upon a beautiful nymph named Scylla who wandered the oceans. He tried to approach her at every occasion he could. Scylla, however, was disgusted by Glaucus, and fled from him at every occasion. But he would not give up. He went to Circe, a sorceress who lives on a separate island, and asked for a charm potion. However Circe, herself had loved Glaucus as well. Jealous of his determination to impress Syclla, she poisoned the waters Syclla lived upon. Shaping her into a terrifying monster.

Now how does this tie in with PERSONA 6 VERGS. Well you have the Gods Fortuna and Nemesis. In this dimension, you will be directing the story of Glaucus, showing sides between Fortuna and Nemesis. Fortuna is the god of luck and prosperity, while Nemesis is the god of retribution. Would you allow Circe to poison Scylla turning her into a monster (that you have to fight as a mini boss by the way) Or would you take on Circe who poisoned Scylla due to her jealousy (who you would also have to fight). Each god corresponds to each decision. And once the decision to end the tale has been made, the opposing god will disagree with your decision and you will have to fight them. Thus the path of fortune, in which you take on Circe and save Scylla from her curse, will lead you to fight Nemesis. The path of retribution, to fight Scylla, will lead you fighting Fortuna. Each fight, when won, will give you a different gamble ability. So if you want to fight the other god, you have to go through the dimension once again.
