In cooperation with Federal Foreign Office, Berlinale NATIVe and Berlinale Forum Expanded.

How can handed-down knowledge about storytelling be adopted to develop excepti- onal narrative film worlds? This truly inter- continental panel will immerse into cultural spaces in Africa, Latin America and India to discover the stories and narrative traditions that are rooted there. Filmmakers and screen- writers will discuss how their cinematic work has been inspired by the narrative structures from their own or other people’s cultural backgrounds.

JEAN-PIERRE BEKOLO
Cameroonian filmmaker. His debut feature QUARTIER MOZART won awards in Locarno and Montréal, while his subsequent satire ARISTOTLE'S PLOT featured at Sundance and THE BLODIEST premiered in Toronto. He has also been teaching at Duke University in 2003, at the University of North Carolina in 2001, and at Virginia Tech in 1998. His latest film MUDIMBE'S ORDER OF THINGS was selected for this year's Berlinale Forum Expanded.

MADHUSREE DUTTA
Indian filmmaker and curator. She is a pioneer in Indian non-fiction cinema and founder and executive director of Majlis, a centre for rights discourse and multi-disciplinary art initiatives in Mumbai. Retrospectives of her works were held in India and Germany, and she has been teaching and researching in universities in Berlin, Berkley, Cologne, Sydney and Hyderabad. Madhusree is also part of this year's Berlinale Shorts jury.

SEBASTIÁN LINGIARDI
Argentinian director, producer and editor. His 2011 documentary SIP'OHI – MANDURÈ PLACE about a man returning to his home town Sip'ohi in the impenetrable forest of Chaqueño in the north of Argentina to document and preserve the oral culture of his ancestors will be screened in this years Berlinale NATIVe section.

Documentary filmmaker, author and journalist, she has been on the selection committee of the Berlinale Forum since 1990 and serves as the Berlinale delegate for India and Sub-Saharan Africa.
