EASY RAG QUILT QUILLOW

In this tutorial we are making an easy rag quilt quillow. These easy quillow instructions will have you making your own pillow quilt in no time. I had a viewer ask if it was possible to make a rag quilt quillow and the answer is, yes. I had so much fun making this adorable rag quilt quillow . I also show you how fold the quillow once you have sewn your quillow pocket onto your rag quilt quillow. It's actually quite easy once you get the hang of it. I used cotton and cuddle to make my rag quilt quillow.

Cutting Instructions:
8- 12.5" Squares of Main Fabric
7- 12.5" Squares of Contrasting Fabric
15- 12.5" Squares of Cuddle Fabric for the Backing

Sew 3 rows across and sew 5 rows down.

My quillow pocket measured 15.5" x 15.5"
Yours may vary depending on the size of your blocks. I recommend measuring your blanket folded and then add 2" to that number. Cut your fabric at that measurement. That will ensure that you will have enough fabric for fringing and also for fitting your rag quilt into your quillow pocket.

YARDAGE INFORMATION:

1 1/8 yards for 8, 12.5 x 12.5” Squares. 1 1/8 yards for 7, 12.5 x 12.5” Squares. 1 3/4 yards for 15, 12.5 x 12.5” Squares. You will need 1/2 yard for your 15.5 x 15.5” Square for the pocket. Measurements are approximate, not exact. You will need to check based on the width of your fabric. This measurement was based on fabric at 43”.
