In this Amazon keyword research guide video there are 5 methods showing you how to find the best keywords to optimise your product listing and PPC campaigns.

Optimised Amazon keywords and key phrases can be used in the product title, descriptions, bullet points, keywords, backend keywords and manual Ad campaigns.

The 5 how to methods discussed in this video are:

Manual Reverse ASIN (FREE): Enter the main keyword search term into the Amazon search and then analyse the top 5 to 10 organic listings (usually direct competitors). There listings will often be well established and optimised so usually contain lots of valuable keyword and key phrases that you can use in your organic product listing or PPC campaigns. Look for keywords that can be found repeatedly in the product titles, this is usually a good sign the keyword is valuable and worth optimising for.

Amazon Auto Suggest (FREE): Enter variations of your product name into Amazon, it will automatically suggest auto-completes that are ranked by volume so the keywords that are at the top of the suggestions are the best ones to consider using.

Amazon Ads Auto PPC Campaigns: A lot of "GURUS" recommend this, however, I think it is an expensive and slow way of carrying out keyword research. The idea is that you setup an Auto campaign and run it for a couple of weeks, you can then use the data this generates to optimise your product listing and PPC. My issue with this method is that it costs a lot more and takes a lot longer than using a paid tool such as Helium 10 to get the same keyword data.

Automatic Reverse ASIN with Cerebro: This allows you to perform a reverse ASIN lookup on individual or multiple products. It returns a list of all of the product keywords that those products are currently ranked for when searching on Amazon. I like to filter the list to keywords found in the top 20 results as these are the keywords that the product is most likely to be converting well for.

Keyword Research with Magnet: Enter a keyword related to your product and Magnet from Helium 10 will suggest hundreds/thousands of other related keywords, you can then filter these keywords by things such as volume and the number of keywords - these filters can be adjusted depending on the type of keywords you are looking for. If you are trying to find keywords for your organic title and launch PPC campaign you will want higher volume keywords, whereas, if you are looking for slightly cheaper keywords you might consider lower volume and adding a minimum keyword limit to help find the long tail keywords.
