Traditional Iraqi Delicacy Gaymar (Devonshire Cream) Made Over Fire

Описание к видео Traditional Iraqi Delicacy Gaymar (Devonshire Cream) Made Over Fire

Gaymar is a traditional Chaldean breakfast dish. Making the Gaymar over an open fire gives it a slightly charred taste, how it would have traditionally tasted before modern ovens, when cooked outdoor over a fire.

Recipe by Masooda Mansour from "Ma Baseema: Middle Eastern Cooking with Chaldean Flair" cookbook.

Chaldeans are Aramaic-speaking, Eastern Rite Catholics, with a history that spans more than 5,500 years, dating back to Mesopotamia, which was known as the cradle of civilization and is present-day Iraq.

Ingredients:
1/2 gallon heavy whipping cream
1/2 gallon whole pasteurized milk
Honey and traditional Iraqi bread
(you may also use jam, date syrup, or another sweet)
