Maria Farantouri sings "Esperinos" by Mikis Theodorakis

Maria Farantouri sings Mikis Theodorakis' song "Esperinos" (1939) accompanied on piano by HENNING SCHMIEDT at the presentation of the book "The Musician Theodorakis – Catalogue of Works" by Asteris Kutulas at the Filippos Nakas Conservatory Athens in 1998.

It has been 26 years since this first edition and I have been working now for over two years on the final edition of the Catalogue. I discovered the VHS video recording of the book premiere in 1998 few weeks ago, which is so interesting and partly fascinating and funny that I decided to publish the speeches of the then Minister of Culture Evangelos Venizelos, the choir conductor Antonis Kontogeorgiou, the director Spyros Evangelatos, the concert of Maria Farantouri & Henning Schmiedt and the speech of Mikis Theodorakis in excerpts. I hope these clips will pique your interest in the final edition of the Ergografia / Catalogue book, which will be ready for publication in 2025.
