Local Legend XII - Dornier Do X - A short flight around New York City - Microsoft Flight Simulator

Today we’re taking the brand new Dornier Do X by Oliver Moser up for a short flight around SamScene3D's fantastic New York City scenery and look at a few of its features.

Just a few days ago I was thinking, that I would love to see a Do X in the sim, so this release came as an awesome surprise. I said about the Latécoère, that it is the best flying boat in the sim so far and that it will be hard to beat. Well, it might not have been beaten, but the Do X is just as good.

The visual model is fantastic the interior is completely modeled, down to the kitchen and toilet. All doors and windows will open, the tug boat is back and I'm sure there are plenty of features left to discover.

The flight model feels convincing and the sounds are good. Maybe the only small negative I've found, is that there doesn't seem to be a change in volume when you open the windows. But other than that it's pretty much perfect.

SamScene3d's New York scenery is among my favorite sceneries in MSFS. If you've ever been to New York, you'll find so many small details you would never expect to see in a sim. The only thing you'll have to keep in mind, is that it isn't exactly easy on your system, and as you can (sadly) see in the video, there are stutters from time to time.
