On November 14, 2011, Josh Hutcherson appeared on ABC's Good Morning America to release the first full-length trailer for "The Hunger Games" to a horde of screaming fans. The crowd's reaction to Josh's appearance illustrates The Hunger Games fever sweeping the nation and the world.

The trailer only shows footage from the film's first half, purposely leaving out anything but the start of the Games to preserve some mystery and stoke fans' anticipation. The trailer ends on a cliffhanger as the tributes run towards the Cornucopia.

Fans and critics' reactions to the trailer were overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the cast and director Gary Ross for bringing the book to life.

By the end of 2011, anticipation for the film had reached a fever pitch, and according to an EW poll, The Hunger Games was the most highly anticipated movie of 2012.
