Training with the UFC legend Nate Diaz at Island Jiujitsu/Atos Honolulu 04/19/22

Came into class Tuesday night last week and Professor made an announcement that Nate Diaz was on island and reached out to him. He wanted to stop by and do some training. Surfer J holds so much respect and admiration in the martial art community it’s amazing to witness it.

Throughout class every time the door opened the whole class turned their heads to see if it was him coming in. The surprise and anticipation was real!

After about 45 minutes Nate Diaz strolled in with a friend of his like it was just another day of training. Professor J got him a Gi and after changing along with shaking a few hands he jumped into our sparring sessions.

For a guy that famous and having a net worth of around a cool 10 million, he was super down to earth. Could be that secret blend of herbs and spices lmao, but for his “bad ass” reputation he showed a ton of respect and even helped me personally how to get out of a triangle choke… After he triangle choked me first of course lol.
