Solar technology and automotive electrics are connecting, because it is becoming increasingly convenient and efficient to feed the electricity for electric cars by solar energy. And in addition to it: The stored electricity in the vehicle can also be fed back into the house grid via wallbox. Thomas Vogel, KOSTAL Head of Product Management, explains the important role the BDL – bidirectional charging – project plays in the company's portfolio and describes the way from tradition to modernity.

Short Cut of this Highlight BDL:
As an AC wallbox, the ENECTOR wall charging station performs unidirectional charging processes up to 11 kW, while the DC wallbox from KOSTAL, which is currently in the development phase, charges e-mobiles with a power rating of 11 kW and can feed the electricity from the vehicle battery back into the power grid. This creates new forms and possibilities in future energy management.
