Описание к видео SUHL: Sylvania Universal High-level Logic | 🔬CCU0274 & CCU0275

Here’s a double feature in the #ComponentsCloseUp series, number 274 and 275!

Both of these are old Sylvania Integrated Circuits that date back probably to the late 1960s or early 1970s, which I would estimate based on the circuit board they were found on.

On this particular board there are a total of three golden ceramic dips. Two of them have the part number 300566400, and one looked like it could be 300566800, but the numbers were pretty faded and hard to read. Neither of these numbers yielded any information searching online as to what they were, so I decided to open them up.

Inside the 300566800 chip is a pink silicon chip with the number 220 on it.
Inside the 300566400 chip is a green silicon chip with the number 286-9 on it.

Both of these parts appear to be from the SUHL (Sylvania Universal High-Level Logic) lines of integrated circuits. I attempted to reverse engineer the drawing of the 220 based on some diagrams that I found in an old Sylvania data book, but it doesn’t seem to match anything listed there. I’m pretty confident that my pinout is correct though.

I plan to do a follow-up video in the future after I’ve spent some more time with these and other Sylvania chips that I have since acquired that are actually in the data book. Those should be easy to determine what their functions are, and perhaps I'll learn something that I can apply to these chips.
